T'was written in the stars......

My fate is written in the stars. Like a rainbow, it comes in different hues. We did not plan what we might become but it is God's omniscient knowledge that did plan it all. At times we may question Him, but who are we to question His omnipotence?

Your fate is not my fate. You may be lucky while I am unfortunate. Or it may be the other way around. Whatever it is, we cannot question God.

Some say it is us who make our future. Others say it is etched in our palms. Still others believe that it has something to do with our astrological or birth signs. What one believes is what one is guided with.

Undoubtedly, everyone wants a Utopian life, a bed of roses. But even a rose has thorns. The thorns are the spices in life. For every accidental prick, it may make us better or make us worse

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. These are the colors that make the rainbow beautiful. These also represent the colors in our life. Our basic instinct is to want a happy life, in bright yellow. We desire sunshine and total bliss, free from worries and wants.

Violet remains a sad color, we often wish not to have it. But through the years, the meaning of this color has metamorphosed. This color now represents women empowerment. But I am happy at the wonderful transformation of the new world that was male-dominated for a long time. Women are now equal to men in the workplace and in every sphere.

If I could only choose the right star that would reflect the color of the fate I want, I want a green and blue life. I want it green for green is life. It signifies growth, renewal, health and environment. For every violet interlude in my life, I want green to overcome it.

Vanity and all profaneness threaten my existence. I never wished a life of unhappiness and failures. For every moment that I am down, I want some blue in my life. I love its calming effect and soft attributes. It gives me peace of mind after a trying moment that tested my patience and kindness.

After all, we only crave for the good things in life. But there's no perfect life. And there's no perfect color in life. Combine some colors and what comes out is a beautiful rainbow. For life to be perfect, happy and well-lived, it must be rainbow-colored.

Like all others, I wish a beautiful rainbow in my life. And what’s in a rainbow? It makes us a hopeless romantic, a lover, a dreamer. Because we believe that our wish may come true when we see a rainbow in the sky. There’s also a promise that at the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold. And my life's a rainbow, in beautiful, colorful hues. God is the wonderful artist and for every stroke of His brush is a unique creation.

World is in chaos
Overtly suffering so much
Rising prices of commodities
Lesser supply, larger demand
Depression is beyond control

Excessive is money supply
Causing prices to soar
Our government must act
Now to banish hunger
On arresting economic plunge
Must relentlessly work to
Yield jobs for poor

My life’s a rainbow
Yes, in different hues

Some moments are sunshine
Utterly happy and jovial
Rainy, cloudy oft times
Vicious on many occasions
Immersing in uncontrollable tears
Vying for peace and quiet
Always wishing for everlasting
Love, care and attention

My Dream Avatar

This new face
my dream avatar
crafted by a
dear friend
so genuine and kind
I wanted it blue
so he made it true...

Wafting clouds are seen
as in a dream
flying, rolling like
 a feathery dream
high, high up
in the azure sky...

It's cool to
to the eyes
I wish my
readers would like
and will enjoy
the soothing site...

In this avatar
I want to paint
these dreams of mine
for every stroke
of the brush
is a masterpiece
and make the world
my beautiful canvas...

This new avatar
will stay with me
for a longer time
I am sure of that
with just a glance
it inspired me to write
and this my post
is in thankful celebration
of my new blue,
cool, lovely Avatar....

It maybe an assault
Neglect to poor people
Harm to the vulnerable
Unscrupulous acts of abusers
Maligning of innocent victims
And may go endless
No sane people want
It impairs our souls
Tells such intimidating tales
You truly would loathe

Catastrophic is man's invention
Headed to barbaric use
Eventually bringing final destruction
Mad men letting gases
Instantly killing in thousands
Conscience, theirs is dead
Annihilation is their aim
Life is at stake

We should be vigilant
Alert to prevent devastation
Reach, create an advocacy
For abjuring toxic chemicals
Aiming for eternal safety
Renouncing this evil mode
Every nation must agree

Trick or treat
Everyone likes it
Comes in bundle
Harnessing men's ingenuity
Noble are intentions
Of making everyone's
Life much easier
Old and young
Great and small
You are one

He was snatched
Unkindly, harshly treated
Mauled agonizingly endless
Asking, begging release
Nobody heard him

Torturers are beasts
On the prowl
Ruthlessly they relish
The beatings given
Until poor victim
Rendered to silence
Ends in death

The Magic of Song

A song is but a little thing
But many wonders it may bring
A good song heals a sick king
By an Adarna bird that sings

A string of some easy notes
And done in lyrical quotes
Accompanied by a flute
Played by a friend so astute

In the coldest of nights
When the cold seems to bite
My favorite song leads me to heights
Heights that I can see beautiful sights

Some songs give happy feelings
Still others with sad meanings
Some others with slow and fast beatings
And yet what joy it is to sing!

Monalisa's smile
evokes mysterious aura
classical, timeless.

Some notes:

While browsing through to look for a pic that would accompany this post of mine, I kinda feel so sad coz' I saw several uploaded portraits of Monalisa being mutilated, lots of which I couldn't stomach. Why have people so become uncanny with such a classic work of a renowned painter, Leonardo da Vinci? I could only surmise that these poor and idiotic people must have failed their subject in Humanities where Monalisa is one subject matter discussed about and are out to make a revenge on a lifeless portrait.

You silly Amity.....
How many times did you try
Of giving up blogging, I don't know why
One day you are high
Other days you are dry
On your lowest you'd let out a cry
Telling yourself it's time to say goodbye

You silly Amity remember
you have followers you've beguiled
Why don't you just write
even when your posts are like a child's
They have loved your place
and your absence will not make them smile

Take your pen and
scribble what comes to mind
It may not be easy,
but don't ask me why
Let your thoughts, feelings
and emotions be your pie
And at the end you will
breath a wonderful sigh.

You silly Amity...wake up!
Your being Silly even does rhyme!!!
Wake up...Silly Amity!

Subdued they look
Ulterior motive hidden
In misleading demeanors
Craving for extermination
Instant mass slaughter
Dying they thought
Ennobles true heroism

But they're indoctrinated
On false dogmas
Making them sacrifice
Both family, happiness
Even forsaking life
Resenting world order
Seeking total annihilation

Paid by government fairly
On services that will
Look after people's welfare
It's but disheartening, they're
Culprits of social unrest
Evils and multifarious brutalities

Beastly they have become
Ruthless and very abusive
Using their guns recklessly
Trying to threaten innocent
And helpless, poor victims
Like they are demigods
Insidiously clad in uniforms
To project deceptive power
You truly would despise

Even Just for A Moment..........

Escape I seek today
from the narrow confines
of my sullen mind...

I hate to linger in this
but it hits me like shards
from time to time.....

Why do I hesitate
why does my mind goes weary
and becomes an empty space

Maybe this heart of mine
needs an inspiration of thine
that would propel my mind
and my pulse to beat

to greater heights
to thoughts divine
to unknown spaces
to beautiful places

that will give thoughts,
ideas, feelings and emotions...

Will you come then
and inspire me now

I need your enchantment
your magic wand

Cast your spell now
Even just for a moment?

Underneath A Quixotic, Pale Moonlight

Underneath a quixotic, pale moonlight,
Are God's wonderful, human creations;
We hear echoes and murmurings at night.

Mischievous guys planned they would meet tonight,
Some pretty gals who've shown hesitations;
Underneath a quixotic, pale moonlight.

Lovers walking in the beach, hands clasped tight,
Whispering sweet nothings and revelations;
We hear echoes and murmurings at night.

Children playing hide and seek, what a sight,
Mocking with glee, much anticipations;
Underneath a quixotic, pale moonlight.

Husband and wife banter in trivial fights,
Laughing, snuggling after such orations;
We hear echoes and murmurings at night.

And I would share with my own valiant knight,
Such bliss counting stars' constellations,
Underneath a quixotic, pale moonlight;
We hear echoes and murmurings at night.

About the poem:

This is a Villanelle, a fixed 19 line form. Six stanzas. It repeats lines in a set pattern and has only two ryhmes. The rhyme scheme is aba, aba, aba, aba, aba, abaa. Line 1 repeats in line 6, 12, 18 and Line 3 repeats in lines 9, 15, 19.

Quite a challenging and an enjoyable way of writing a poem...though this piece is my first attempt.... :)

Diminishing family values
Onerous life situations
Molesting mothers, children
Extinguishing family's happiness
Such sordid state
Threatening and disturbing
Immediate help needed
Compassion and kindness

Vile are culprits
Incarceration they deserve
Over aggressions committed
Lest they continue
Ensnaring innocent victims
Nefariously threatening them
Cursed be them
Every crime done

Beneath the Veil

O thou, amiable, innocent princess,
Showest thou thy charms and pretty graces,
Let not thine veil hide thy face and beauty,
For all the world to admire, adore, see
What made thou cling to that unwholesome mask?
Will it modify such an horrible dark past?
Yet be not discouraged, never falter
Tis' a beautiful world, that's what matters,
Be obedient, hold your head up high,
Show great courage, let not thine good heart cry;
Thou knowest afterall, life is beautiful
Now go, unmask thyself, and thee be whole.

Close to almost death
He suffered bruises, pains
In parents' cruel hands
Leading to trauma forever
Destroying his self-worth

And his normal growth
Blighting his bright future
Until he becomes a
Social and family problem
Enslaved by lifetime fear

Speak thou my heart
Ponder upon thy feelings

Express in thine way
All thou mayest wish
Knowing it givest bliss
Incomprehensible and beyond compare
Nay, be brave enough
Gladly lovest thou him

Oh for a lifetime
Unceasing be thine happiness
Truly intoxicating and magical

My 50th Poem....

With much hesitation, I ventured into this blog world
Like a lost stranger, I wondered what to do
I attempted to pour my feelings and my thoughts
Hoping somebody would listen and care

I dauntlessly scribbled what came to heart and mind
To ease myself of boredom, some physical pains
And tough emotional struggles I tried to conquer
With the help of my pen and paper

And in this wonderful blog space
Little by little I gained virtual friends
I was acknowledged, admired and thanked
For sharing my dreams and my realities

I grew up, matured and won awards
But in between were much hesitation
At times I wished to just vanish away
Thinking I am doing no better way

But thank you all my dear blogging buddies
As I wrote my 50th poem
You all inspired me to write and share
To express and be part of a wonderful world
What I am now, I owe it to you all!

More notes on this poem:

Hey buddies, this is my 50th poem (click on this link to read more of my poems), since I started blogging sometime in November 2008. I would like to consider this as a milestone. And yes, in between then and now, I oftentimes wanted to stop the whole exciting thing, but thanks a lot, many of you my buddies would dare me not to stop, and have instead pushed and encouraged me to go on and would often tell me that I should not hesitate because I enjoy writing. Thanks buddies... ;)

I hope to write some more and hopefully gain more friends and readers...Yes, I truly love this world, a silent and at the same time noisy world where there is a unique meeting of the minds. There are no borders, no boundaries, no discriminations, in spite of the fact that we come from different worlds. What a beautiful world, isn't it?

No fighting, whatsoever, but only just the sharing of wonderful minds, great ideas,  beautiful thoughts and unique feelings and emotions.

Thanks to all of you...:) Have a blessed Sunday........... :)

P.S. Thanks for the Badge that I won last February at Acrostic Only, on my work COMETS.

With much love,

She was panting, catching her breath
As if she has climbed hills and mountains
She tried to fly to escape her predator
Yet she can't launch her wings
And remained a helpless prey

Run, run, she told herself
But she felt immobile
And can't even make a single move
She's about to be devoured
Crying for help from somewhere

They seemed not to hear
They seemed to be ignoring her pleas
And her predator was just a few steps away
She's stony terrified
And remained a vulnerable prey

Gathering all her last wits
She ran so fast, stumbled on a boulder
Then saw blood oozing from her thighs
Awakened by the pain
Thank God, it's just a dream.

Please Don't Run

My mind seems empty
My pen is just as lazy
Why do you have to run away from me
When I have so much to express
Of the many things I regret

Please don't run away from me
Help me convey what is real
Let me share what I feel
To ease me of the pain
To keep me always sane

Don't run away from me
Though you always seem not to come easy to me
Just please don't totally run away from me

I believe in you

What you told me
Are true and encouraging
Now it's my promise
That I will survive

Till God calls me
Out there in heaven

Let me enjoy life
In the arms of
Very caring, loving family
Ever true, honest friends!
